  • Wanting Better Means That I Am Being Ungrateful For What I Already Have

    It is easy to feel greedy and ungrateful when we want more or better, as if we are devaluing what we already have. We ask ourselves, “If what I have is so great why would I want more or better?”

    In reality it is possible to appreciate what we have AND work towards more and better.

    Today we are going to tap to hold space for both of those feelings at the same time.

  • I Have Squandered My Opportunities In The Past So I Don’t Deserve Any New Opportunities

    It is so easy to remember all of the times we have messed up.

    Because of this it is also easy to feel unworthy of new opportunities as we have wasted those presented to us in the past.

    Today we are going to tap for the feeling that we are undeserving of new opportunities because we have squandered others before.

  • I Have So Much More Than Some. It Is Greedy To Want More

    It is good for us to recognize all the gifts we have in our life. The fact we have time to think about making our life better means that we are very fortunate.

    There are times when our thankfulness can get the better of us and start to feel like guilt because we have so more than others. When this happens wanting more in life can feel greedy.

    Today we are going to tap for those times we feel greedy for wanting more than we already have.

  • Others Will Think I Am Selfish For Pursuing My Goals

    In order to pursue our goals we need to spend time, emotion, and energy to make those goals happen.

    This might mean that we stop doing other tasks and spend less time with the people in our lives. As much as our loved ones want what is best for us, they sometimes push back on us for trying to achieve our goals. They might even think or call us selfish for doing something for ourselves.

    Today we are going to tap for the fear that others will perceive us as selfish for doing something for ourselves.

  • I Don’t Know Why Wanted This In The First Place

    When it takes time to reach our goals it can be easy to lose touch with why we wanted them in the first place. We become bogged down in the details and tasks and lose touch with why we wanted the change in the first place.

    This can really kill our enthusiasm for working towards our goal!

  • I Can’t Tell If I Am Pursuing This Because I Want It Or If I Am Supposed To Want This

    Everywhere we turn we receive information about what will make us happy. Much of this comes from traditions and a shared history of how life is supposed to look.

    Taking advantage of the wisdom of the ages can be useful when trying to craft our path in the world but it is important to remember that just because something is good for most people doesn’t mean it right for us.

    Today we are going to tap for that feeling of not knowing if we are working toward something because it is best for us or because we feel like it is supposed to be best for us.

    There’s a part of me…That really wants to move forward…There’s a part of me…That sees these wonderful goals I’m striving for…There’s a part of me…That is ready to move forward…But when I name something new…When I name something better that I want…It feels like I’m saying…What I have simply isn’t enough…It feels like I’m saying…I don’t appreciate where I am…I don’t appreciate what others have done for me…I don’t appreciate all the gifts in my life…I don’t appreciate the fact that I have it better than most…It is possible for me…To continue to move forward…To strive for better…To strive for more…And still appreciate where I am…Still appreciate what I have…Still appreciate everything that’s happened in my life…I can strive for more and appreciate what I have…I can appreciate what I have and still have energy to strive for more…Striving for more…And appreciating what I have…Are not mutually exclusive…They can happen simultaneously…And they can both serve me…I want to appreciate what I have…I want to strive for more…I give myself permission….To do both at the exact same time.

  • I Can’t Do This Because There Is No Way I Can Learn What I Need To Be Successful

    In order to achieve our goals we often have to learn how to do things we have never done before.

    This can feel intimidating and overwhelming.

    Today we are going to tap for feeling like it is too hard to learn what needs to learned to be successful.

    There are goals that I want to achieve…There are goals that I think are really important…It will make my life so much better…It will make other people’s lives better as well…And it’s something that is new for me…It is something that is different for me…It is something that feels like it is a long way away…And it’s going to require me to learn something new…It’s going to require me to do something new…It’s going to require me to do things I’ve never done before…And I feel like I have to learn so much…And it’s going to take so long to learn that…And I feel like I can’t move forward…Until I’ve learned all of those new things…But I don’t have to learn it all to start…As I begin to learn…I can start putting my new knowledge into action…As I begin to learn…I can start to implement what I know…It is a process…And nothing I have ever done…Didn’t require some learning first…And even though I have so much to learn…The goals I want to achieve…Are important enough to put in the effort…The goals I want to achieve…Mean so much to me I’m willing to try…It is going to take time…It is going to take effort…I am going to have to work at it…But the knowledge I gather…The knowledge I capture…Is enough to help me to move forward…To be successful…Learning new things is an investment…That takes time…But will pay dividends…For the rest of my life…I give myself permission…To take the time…To do the work…Knowing it will pay off in the long run.

  • Having Courage To Step Out Of My Comfort Zone

    It is easy to be motivated when we are in pain because we want to be pain free.

    It is easy to be motivated when we are close to our goal because we can almost taste success.

    The hardest time to move is when we are in the comfortable middle. It is not what we want, but it isn’t so painful that we are motivated to push forward.

    To step out of this comfort zone is scary because it means we could lose comfort.

    Let’s tap for the courage to step out of our comfort zone today.

    I’m enjoying my life…I recognize I have a lot of good things…I’m not fighting for survival…I’m not fighting off danger at every moment…I have what I need to get by…But that isn’t necessarily enough…I have dreams…I have goals…I have aspirations…I want to move forward…But that means I’m going to have to leave my comfort zone…And there’s a part of me that does not want to leave my comfort zone…There’s a part of me that wants to stay right here…There’s a part of me that doesn’t want to transition…Because trying to transition is work…And work can be painful…And work can lead to failure…The part of me that wants to stay in this comfort zone…Is trying to take care of me…Is trying to make my day pain-free…And I appreciate the fact that it’s doing that…That it’s trying to keep me safe…But, today, I give myself permission…To step out of my comfort zone…To try something new…To try something I’m not going to be perfect at…That’s going to move me towards my goal…Because even though I’m experiencing this…I want to move forward…And I want to have more…I give myself permission to step out…Knowing that the rewards of stepping out…Outweigh the risk…Because those rewards are going to be lasting.

  • I Feel Bad About Wanting And Having More

    During this process we have tapped a number of times for those less fortunate.

    It is good to recognize that we are blessed. But this can be a doubled-edged sword.

    Since we are so blessed it can feel like we are taking away from others when we seek more for ourselves. If we feel we are taking more than our share then we will prevent ourselves from moving forward.

    Let’s tap for feeling that our success means we are taking more than our fair share.

    I want more…I want better…I want to move towards my goals… I want to be successful…I want growth…I want richness…And part of me knows…That I already have so much…Part of me knows…That I’m really blessed…Part of me knows…I have more than most of the world…And to want more…And to strive for more…And to crave more…Feels very selfish…Feels very greedy….Feels very heartless…Feels like I’m taking more than my share…Feels so, so, so, selfish…But I recognize the fact…Happiness enjoys not a limited resource…And by me having more joy…I’m not taking more than my share…By me having more happiness…I’m not taking more than my share…And it’s possible for me…To use my good fortune…To use my success…To use my progress…To help and serve others…There’s not a limit to the resource in the world…There are limited resources…But those limited resources do not limit our ability to make progress…They do not limit our ability to move forward…They do not limit our ability to bring others with us…In big and small ways…It is possible for me…To have success…And to recognize I’m not stealing from others…To recognize I’m not taking more than my share…I can appreciate what I have…I can be thankful for what I have…I can bless what I have…And still gracefully move upward…Still thoughtfully add abundance…Without feeling like I’m stealing from others…Without feeling like I’m taking more than my share.
