  • I Am Worried That If I Do This For Myself My Loved Ones Will Expect Me To Do It For Them As Well

    When we make changes in our life it often means doing more work because we are taking new actions and learning new things.

    Our loved ones sometimes want to reap the benefits of our hard work as well. It is fine for us to choose to share our progress with our loved ones but more difficult if there is a sense of expectation from them.

    Feeling worried about others taking advantage of our progress can hold us back from taking action.

    Today we are going to tap for those times we worry about others expecting us to do for them what we are doing for ourselves.

  • I Feel Like I Am Going After This Goal Because Others Think It Is What Is Best For Me

    We are lucky to have people in our lives who want better for us. We are lucky to have have people in our life who want more for us.

    The problem is that sometimes our loved ones use their own sensibilities and desires to name what they think is best for us. When this happens it can be hard to tell if we are working towards a goal we genuinely want or one others think we should want.

  • When Others Know My Goals They Will Judge My Efforts And My Progress

    When we share our goals we give other people the opportunity to evaluate our efforts. If they know what we are working toward, they will also know how far away we are from achieving that goal.

    Feeling like others are judging us can make us hesitant to state our goals.

  • I Don’t Like The Fact That My Hard Work Is Giving Others Permission Be Lazy

    Our hard work doesn’t really give other people permission to be lazy but some may interpret our action as a cue for them to take it easy because we are doing more.

    If taking responsibility and working hard allows others to be lazy it’s possible that we will feel less motivated to take action.

  • My Loved Ones Don’t Take My Goals Seriously

    We want our loved ones to support us and to be happy about our progress and success.

    But there will be times when they just don’t get it. They don’t understand our goals or they don’t understand why they are important to us and this lack of support can influence our willingness to take action.

  • My Success Will Make Some Of My Friends Feel Bad

    The changes we make in our lives are often noticeable to our friends. This is often a good thing because appreciate our progress, encourage us to continue, and can be inspired by our effort and action.

    But our success can also shine a light on our loved ones’ lack of progress leaving them feeling bad as a result. In wanting to save their feelings we may become hesitant about taking action.

    Achieving a new goal often means a lot of hard work as we learn new skills and take on extra tasks.

    Because of all the work involved it is easy for part of us to feel concerned that maintaining our success will take just as much time and effort as was required to achieve it.

    We are naturally disposed to keeping our lives consistent. Consistent means predictable and so even when things are not perfect, they are manageable because we know what to expect.

  • I Am Stuck In The Same Old Patterns As The Rest Of My Family

    There is no doubt that we are influenced by the families we grow up in. We spend so much time with our family that it’s entirely natural to adopt the same patterns and approaches.

    At a certain point we recognize that we need to break free, but sometimes that is easier said than done.
