  • I Can’t Tell If I Am Pursuing This Because I Want It Or If I Am Supposed To Want This

Everywhere we turn we receive information about what will make us happy. Much of this comes from traditions and a shared history of how life is supposed to look.

Taking advantage of the wisdom of the ages can be useful when trying to craft our path in the world but it is important to remember that just because something is good for most people doesn’t mean it right for us.

Today we are going to tap for that feeling of not knowing if we are working toward something because it is best for us or because we feel like it is supposed to be best for us.

  • Others Are Applying Their Definition Of Happiness To Me

Most of the people in our life honestly and truly want what is best for us. The problem comes when they are giving us encouragement and advice based on what they believe is best for us and not what we think is best for us.

It is not that they don’t trust us, but they are seeing our lives through the lens of how they see their own lives.

Today we tap for those times when it feels like others are trying to get us to live up to their definition of happiness and success.

  • Courage Comes From Care

Caring for someone else can feel like a dangerous task. When we care we are are opening ourselves up to having our efforts turned down.

But when we care for someone else we see how much they are worth and it makes it easier to take difficult action because we see what good can come from that action.

Even though it is hard, “From caring comes courage.” – Lao Tzu

Today we tap to be open to caring and to accepting the courage that results from that caring.

  • I Want This So Badly I Am Worried It Is Going To Take Over My Life

It is good to have passion. It is even better to feel like our goal is within our grasp and that we can take action every day to get there.

There are times when, as we get closer and closer to our goal, it starts to take up more of our time, energy, and attention. When this happens it can create the concern that it will take over to the extent that we neglect other parts of our life.

Today we are going to tap for those times where it feels like our desire for one thing is going to take over our life completely.

  • If I Tap For One Issue I Am Going To Open Pandora’s Box To All The Issues I Need To Tap For

One lesson we learn very quickly when we start to tapping is the fact that so many of our issues are connected. Sometimes we are tapping for one issue and as we do that three more spring to mind.

It is good when we can knock out many issues at once that are connected to what we want to have happen.

AND this can feel overwhelming because we are afraid that every time we sit down to tap we will be run over with emotions and multiple issues.

Today we are going to tap for when it feels like tapping for one issue will unleash too many issues to deal with at once.

  • Being Courageous Does Not Mean We Are Free Of Fear

I agree with Nelson Mandela: “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

There will be times when we will still feel fearful, even after tapping. Fear in itself isn’t a bad thing, it’s just the part of us looking out for danger.

Courage is seeing what could go wrong and still acting in the face of possible failure.

Today we are going to tap to take action even when we feel fearful.

  • I Have Failed Before And I Feel Like I Am Going To Fail Again

Remembering and learning from past mistakes is a good thing because it helps us to make better choices in the future.

But we run into trouble when the lesson we learned from past failures is that we are failures and that we will fail again.

Today we are going to tap for feeling that failure is a pattern we are bound to keep repeating.
