Teaching: How To Tap For Your Goal List

During tonight’s call we talked about 9 ways to tap with goal lists. Here are those 9. Listen to the audio for each one in detail.

  1. Tap through your goal list out loud and write down the emotions that come up.
  2. What emotions do you feel about tapping for your goals? Write those emotions down and tap for them.
  3. Take time to tap for feeling bad about not making any progress in the last week.
  4. Tap for the emotions around failed attempts to move forward from the last week.
  5. Just read the part of the goal which states why you want the goal and tap.
  6. Ask yourself, “Who will be harmed (or perceive harm) if I achieve any or all of my goals?”
  7. Ask yourself, “How will my life be harder if I achieve any or all my goals?”
  8. While tapping, see yourself encountering obstacles and see yourself getting past those obstacles.”
  9. Ask yourself, “What difficult or uncomfortable truths will I have to face or admit in order to reach my goals?”

Hi Gene, I loved listening to this group discussion. Every time I hear you, or talk to you, I gain a clue to guide my life. Number 9 blew we me away. I had put down in my goals that I wanted to spend time painting. Over the years I have promised myself this, but am always finding excuses not to. When you talked through No 9. I suddenly realised the problem is to do with hurtful criticism of my painting by a “loved one” in the past. I will tap on it! Thank you again, Sue.

Hi Gene, What an awesome way to tap for my goal list. I have been working/tapping on my goal list for the last two days following these instructions and I realized that my list doesn’t overwhelm me anymore and I actually feel excited about it.
I have had experiences in the past when I haven’t quite achieved my goals and this time I was very reluctant to do my list again knowing that I am going to have the same experience and I will be disappointed. Not anymore with this new way of tapping for my goals.
    Thank you so much.
    Daniela.
