  • Justice

Today’s reflection is, “Mirror of justice; help me to be an advocate for justice for those who aren’t able to seek justice.”

I know I have said this before, but it is worth repeating: the fact that we have time to tap and contemplate healing means we lead a blessed life.

There are many who don’t have that opportunity.

It is scary to stand up for those who have less than we do. Today we tap for the courage to stand up for what we know is right.

    Justice
    (audio 2m35s)

I recognize that there’s not complete justice in the world…I recognize that there are people on the margin…People who don’t have it as good as me…Even things in my own life that aren’t just…And it’s good that I take time to work on myself…It is good that I tap through what’s going on…But it’s also important that I keep an eye on the big picture…Recognize the blessings I have…Recognizing the voice that I can be…To speak for those who don’t have a voice…To speak for those who don’t have the opportunity to be heard…Not that I abandon myself…Not that I stop caring for myself…That I constantly put myself in a position…To see beyond just me…To be helpful and to share…To be the voice for those that don’t have one…I know the justice I want in my life…I know the justice I want for others…And I commit in this day to make choices to work towards those goals.

  • See Mercy

Today we are going to reflect on, “Gentle in mercy; help me to not be jaded and recognize mercy in the world.”

It is so easy to get caught up in the negativity of the world. When we do this we only see what is wrong and we only notice when others are acting in selfish and meanspirited ways.

The world is filled with people who are performing loving and kind acts every moment of every day.

It is important to keep our eyes open to these acts of love and mercy. When we see them we keep our hearts open to knowing that more of the same is possible.

    See Mercy
    (audio 3m08s)

Sometimes the world is frustrating…Sometimes the world is overwhelming…Sometimes all I see is the negative stuff…And that can beat me up…And beat me down…Make me feel overwhelmed…And hopeless…And when I see the negative…It’s so much harder for me to act positive…It’s hard to believe…That my mercy could make any difference… When I don’t see it anywhere else…I give myself permission to open my eyes…And recognize the mercy…That is constantly around me…In big and small ways…Mercy is being extended…Not as much as I would like…But when I’m able to recognize it…I’m able to put myself in the position…Where I can act with greater mercy…It’s there…In big and small ways…Mercy abounds…Mercy is all around…I give myself permission…To be open to the mercy that’s around me…Which will help me…To act with greater strength…And greater mercy…With all those that I interact with…Which will create a chain reaction of mercy spreading.

  • Wise Counsel

Today’s reflection is, “Let me seek wise counsel. Let me offer unbiased and unselfish counsel.”

I have a hard time seeking help of any kind. It feels like weakness. It feels like failing. This happens because I think I should be perfect all the time.

In order to be successful I need outside help.

Let’s tap for being able to seek counsel without feeling foolish or weak, and for an open heart to speak the truth that others need to hear when we are asked for help.

    Wise Counsel
    (audio 3m19s)

I don’t know everything…I know I don’t know everything…And it’s OK that I don’t know everything…It’s not a sign of failure… It’s not a sign of incompleteness…It’s not a sign that I’ve done anything wrong…It simply means I don’t know everything…I don’t know how to do things…I don’t know specific facts…And I don’t have the wisdom of experience in all areas…And it’s good for me to reach out…Reach out to other people…Seeking help and guidance…Knowing they don’t have all the answers…Knowing they don’t have the only answer…But reaching out…Would benefit me…In making good choices…And when people reach out to me…They’re not asking me to fix something…They’re not asking me to do something for them…They’re not asking me to take over…And if they don’t take my advice…If they don’t take my counsel…That’s their choice…And that’s OK…It’s up to them…To make the choice that they want…And when people ask me for help…My job is to provide them the best that I can…Not what’s best for me…But what’s best for them…When I offer counsel…When I connect with others…When they share with me…It also builds our bond…Builds strength…Builds our friendship.

  • Purity

In today’s reflection I am focusing on the idea of purity in the phrase, “May I be of pure heart, mind, intention, and action in all that I do today.”

It is really easy to think of the opposite of purity as impurity and evil. That may be true, but I think there is more to it than that.

When I act out of fear, it feels like an impure action.

When I act out of someone’s else definition of who I should be, it feels like an impure action.

When I act from who I once was, if feels like an impure action.

Let’s tap to have every thought, intention, and action today stem from a purely authentic place.

    Have Pure Intentions
    (audio 3m10s)

In all that I do today…I want to act with a pure heart…I want to have honest intentions…I want to see things as they truly are…I want to level with myself about what is true…This doesn’t mean people walk all over me…This doesn’t mean that I’m a pushover…This doesn’t mean that I don’t state my own intentions…A pure heart is simply being honest with what I truly feel…A pure mind is simply understanding myself and my circumstance for what it truly is…Pure intentions simply mean that I’m acting in an honest fashion…When I act with a pure heart and mind…I navigate and manage the day effortlessly…When I act with a pure heart and mind…I see myself for what I truly am…In all that I do today…I want to act…With a pure heart…A pure mind…Pure intentions for pure actions.

  • Know Peace

Today we are going to focus on the phrase, “Teach me to know peace.”

Peace is not an action, it is a state of mind and a state of being.

I struggle with being at or resting in peace because it feels like I have stopped moving forward, stopped progressing, and stopped evolving.

It is possible to be at peace with ourselves and the world and still not have our desire for more quenched.

Today we tap be able to embrace being at peace.

    Know Peace
    (audio 3m15s)

  • Accepting Mercy

Today’s phrase to reflect on is, “Teach me to accept mercy.”

I am really hard on myself. When I do something wrong I am the first to start beating myself up. Especially when I have done something that hurts someone else.

I am lucky enough to I have people in my life who are willing to forgive me when I have hurt them in some way, but I have a hard time accepting their forgiveness and mercy.

Today we tap for being able to accept the gift of mercy from others.

AND as you are reading this you are thinking one of two things. 1) I need this. 2) There is no way I need this.

If you are in camp 2, I really encourage you to tap to this. You will be surprised.

    Accepting Mercy
    (audio 4m17s)

I like being kind…I like being helpful…I like being able to extend a helping hand…And offer mercy to others…In big and small ways…But, personally I struggle…I struggle in accepting the mercy of others…I believe I should always do it on my own…I believe I should always get it right…Even when I don’t hold others to that standard…I believe that I should deal with the punishment…And the consequences that come…With every mistake that I make…It is good that I am kind to myself…It is good that I am kind to others…It’s hard for me to accept the kindness and mercy from others…It’s hard for me to accept the kindness and mercy for myself…When someone extends mercy to me…It’s an act of love…It’s an act of caring…When I refuse to accept that mercy…I’m depriving myself…And I’m depriving them of being merciful…It’s not a failing to accept mercy…
I give myself permission today to graciously accept the mercy of others…I give myself permission to not feel like a failure…When I’m graciously accepting that mercy…I want to extend mercy to others…And I need to give others the opportunity to do the same to me…They’re not judging me…They’re not saying I’m not worthy of doing a good enough job…They are extending mercy…Because that’s a very loving and human thing to do.

  • Be Love

Today we are reflecting and tapping on, “Queen of love, teach me to be love.”

My friend Joia uses the phrase, “Love is a verb” regularly when she is speaking to high schoolers. Love is not a feeling but a conscious action we can take.

Join me in tapping to make a choice to be love more.

    Be Love
    (audio 3m45s)

I want more love in my life…I want more genuine connection…I want more authentic connection…I want to be present to others…In a way that allows them to have that connection…I want to be present to others…As a model and the light…I want to be present to others as love…That can be hard day-to-day…That can be hard moment-to- moment…As I get wrapped up in details…As I get wrapped up in goals…As I get wrapped up in tasks…It’s easy to lose connection with my loving self…And it’s easy to lose connection with love…Because it’s hard for me to see beyond the right now… When I am love…I’m fully present in this moment…When I am love…I see myself and others as they truly are…There’s no rush…There’s no hurry…This doesn’t mean I stop moving… This doesn’t mean that I stop growing…It simply means I am…I’m present in this moment…I see my authentic self…I see others’ authentic selves…And I’m able to appreciate all of that…I want to be love…In all that I do.

  • Being An Advocate

Today we are reflecting on, “Help me to be a champion for those who have no advocate.”

The fact that we have enough time to do tapping and work on developing ourselves means that we already have a better life than much of the world’s population that is struggling just to get by each day.

We have the opportunity to be a voice for those who don’t have a voice.

Join me in tapping to be that voice.

    Advocate
    (audio 2m50s)

I have so much…I appreciate the fact that I have so much…I’m glad I have the opportunity to pursue my goals…To ask hard questions about my own life…To try to heal past wounds…I appreciate these opportunities…There are people around me who don’t have that chance…They don’t have the opportunity to state their own goals…They don’t have the opportunity to work towards healing…They don’t have the resources to ask the hard questions…It’s not that they don’t want to…They just don’t have the opportunity…They might not have the safe space…They might not have the time…They might not have the know how…It’s good for me to stand up for…To speak up for…To be an advocate for those who have no voice…It’s not my responsibility to carry their burdens…It is not my responsibility to fix their problems…But I have the chance to stand up for them… And to speak out for them…And when they’re lifted up…We are all lifted up.

  • Seeing Joy

Today we are reflecting on joy: “Help me to see joy in big and small places, and help me to bring joy to the joyless.”

For me, joy is something that runs deep. It is not on the surface like happiness, which can be fleeting.

Joy is being able to be fully present to what is in front of us and savor every bit of it.

Join me in tapping to seeing more joy in the world.

    Joy
    (audio 3m05s)

I want to see joy…I want to experience joy…I want to be joy…When I’m present in this moment…And not hurried… I’m paying attention to what is going on…And it’s easy to see joy…Joy in others…And feeling it in myself…Joy is about connection…Joy is about presence…Joy is about recognizing what is good…Joy is about following my own dreams…Joy is about recognizing my dreams…Joy is about giving me permission to be in my dreams…Joy is recognizing others being in the moment…And seeing them for who they truly are…Joy is everywhere…Even in places that seem dark…I simply need to be…Open to that joy…I give myself permission…To look for joy today…Because it’s there…If I authentically seek it…I will find it…It will lift my spirit…And I will feel joy too…

  • Becoming Who We Are To Be

Today we are reflecting on transformation: “Help me to be transformed into the new creation I am called to become.”

I am a work in progress and am constantly transforming. A balance needs to be struck between being who we are right now, and who we would like to be in the future.

Today we tap for finding that balance.

    Transformed
    (audio 3m16s)

I am in process…I am unfinished…There are goals that will still be revealed…There are gifts that will still be uncovered…There will be opportunities to change and transform…Transformation can be scary…I give myself permission…To know that transformation is OK…I was built for transformation…I was built for change…I was built for growth…I give myself permission…To be open to that transformation…But at the same time, I don’t want to be so focused on transformation…That I miss this moment…That I miss this opportunity…That I miss where I am right now…Even as I’m called to transformation…There’s much for me in this moment…I give myself permission to be present to this moment…To enjoy this moment…There’s a tension…Between who I am…And who I’m becoming…I give myself permission to be OK with that tension…To enjoy the moment and to give myself permission to grow.
