We are lucky to have people in our lives who want better for us. We are lucky to have have people in our life who want more for us.
The problem is that sometimes our loved ones use their own sensibilities and desires to name what they think is best for us. When this happens it can be hard to tell if we are working towards a goal we genuinely want or one others think we should want.
Today we are going to tap to help find peace around working towards the goals that we think are best for us.
I Feel Like I Am Going After This Goal Because Others Think It Is What Is Best For Me
(audio 4m40s)
I know the people in my life want what’s best for me…They want me to be successful…They want me to be happy…They want me to experience joy…And they have a very clear definition…Of what that happiness is…Of what that success is…And that success may or may not be what I want…That success may or may not be what is good for me…And it’s really hard when others are pushing me towards a goal…Because then I can’t tell if I want it for me…Or if they want it for me and that’s why I’m striving for it…And what complicates it even more…Is the fact that both of those things can happen simultaneously…I can be in a situation where I am trying to move forward…And as I do that, they want the same thing for me…It’s good to acknowledge people want what’s best for me…It’s good to acknowledge their heart is in the right place…I can honor their encouragement…I can appreciate their care…Without striving for what they want…When I choose a goal…That is not the goal that other people want for me…I’m making a good choice…At the end of the day…This is my life…At the end of the day…This is about me…And I have to make the choices…That are right and best for me…I give myself permission to be easy with myself…And know that it is OK to strive towards what I want…It’s not about them…it’s not about their desires…And it’s not about their definition of happiness…It’s about me…About what I want…And about what is best for me…And regardless what other people want for me…I give myself permission to pursue what is best for me.
