Achieving a new goal often means a lot of hard work as we learn new skills and take on extra tasks.
Because of all the work involved it is easy for part of us to feel concerned that maintaining our success will take just as much time and effort as was required to achieve it.
Today we are tapping for that concern.
If I Have To Work Hard To Reach My Goals I Feel Like I Am Going To Have To Work Harder To Keep My Success
(audio 3m42s)
I recognize the fact…That sometimes for me to be successful…I’m going to have to work hard…I’m going to have to do things I’m not used to…I’m going to have to do things that I’ve never done before…They will take time…They will take effort…And they will take strain…And as much as I appreciate this hard work…There’s a part of me that is afraid…That once I have success…I’m going to have to keep working this hard to maintain that success…Once I move forward…I’m going to have to keep pushing hard to maintain that position…But I recognize the fact…That the hard work that I am putting in…Is laying the groundwork for that success…It’s building the infrastructure for that success…Much like building a house…It’s hard work to build the house…But once the house is built I get to enjoy the house…Without having to work as hard as I did while building the house…Our success is no different…We work hard to build that success…But once we’ve achieved that success…It’s there…We might have to do a little to maintain it…But we don’t have to work as hard to keep it…I do not have to fear success…Because it’s not going to bring extra work into my life…I’m building success…Which will be something I will be able to maintain…With much less effort than it took to create that success.
