Everyone Else Gets What They Want, Why Can’t I Get What I Want Now?

There are times when life feels very unfair. We see people around us having an easier time at getting what we want. Everything seems to fall into place for them or they are given advantages that we will never have.

Today we are going to tap for the frustration that comes with the fact that the world is not fair and that some people have an easier time than others for no other reason than fate.

I give myself permission…To recognize the fact…That part of the reason I get bent out of shape…When other people are successful…And I am not…Comes from a sense of justice…Comes from a sense of wanting fairness…Comes from a sense of wanting it to be the same for everyone…And it’s not a bad thing to look for…And that’s not a bad thing to ask for…Justice and fairness is good…People putting in the same amount of effort for the same outcome is great…But unfortunately the world is not fair…The playing field is not level…There are people who have it easier…There are people who get breaks that I don’t get…There are people who have access to resources that I don’t have access to…There are people who move forward faster that I do…And that’s really frustrating…And that’s really disappointing…And that’s really overwhelming…But I give myself permission to know…That I actually have advantages that other people don’t have…The simple fact that I get to struggle with this problem…Means that my life is better than most of the world…There are people who are literally fighting to eat…There are people who are literally fighting for their own safety…And I appreciate the fact…That I have more than most…And that doesn’t mean that I’m satisfied with what I have…That doesn’t mean that I stop striving for better and more…It simply means…That I want to be in a circumstance…Where I continue to work for justice…I continue to strive for what is mine…And I appreciate the fact that I do have advantages as well…And I appreciate the fact that I have opportunities that others don’t have…I give myself permission to be easy with myself…And gentle with the process…As I move forward…Taking advantage of the opportunities I have…And recognizing those opportunities are different from those that others have.
