In my mind, happiness is a choice. Not that we can always choose to be happy, but there are times in which we don’t choose to be happy when we could do. Today we are going to tap for creating the space to allow ourselves to choose a better emotional state.

I want to be happy…I want to be in control of my emotions…I want to appreciate what’s around me…And see what I’m experiencing as a gift…And this does not mean…I’m a Pollyanna in the way that I look at the world…This does not mean I don’t see the harsh realities around me…This does not mean I ignore things that are bad…But it is possible for me…To appreciate and engage with…Whatever comes to me…In each moment, that is my choice…In each moment, that is my responsibility…I give myself permission…To honestly assess what’s going on…And to see the good that is in it…And to see the gift that it is…And to appreciate what is there…And I can do this…While still looking honestly….And everything I’m experiencing…And everything that is going on…I give myself permission…To enjoy this moment.
Thanks, Gene … I seem to find myself irritable a lot lately and this is a good reminder and a good tool to implement an attitude adjustment. Now to remember it!

In the intro you say…”So my happiness, that moment to moment feeling, not joy, but that moment to moment feeling that’s dependent upon whether I determine a situation is good or not…”
I found that very interesting. I was wondering if you would please explain your definition of joy.
