There have been times in the past where you have put your heart into something and it didn’t work out. Because you cared so much the sting of failure felt that much more acute.
Often we will stop ourselves from caring so that we don’t have to deal with the pain of failure. The problem is that when we don’t care we don’t try as hard, which makes success that much harder to achieve.
Today we are going to tap for the worry that caring a lot now will lead to more hurt later if we don’t achieve our goal.
If Care A Lot Now It Will Be More Painful If It Doesn’t Work Out

I have goals…I have dreams…I have things that I’m moving towards…That I know will be good for me…I want that better life…I want the achievement that comes along with the goal…I want the satisfaction…And there are times that I want it so much…I could almost taste it…I’m bursting at the seams with excitement…I’m bursting at the seams with desire…But there’s a part of me…That knows what it’s like to be let down…There’s a part of me…That knows what it’s like to have hopes dashed…There’s a part of me…That knows the emptiness and pain…That comes in the wake…Of unfulfilled expectations…I give myself permission…To be easy with myself…And easy with the process…And to recognize the fact…That unfulfilled expectation…And being let down…Is all part of making my life better…But I know…The positive of trying to make it happen…Outweighs the pain of it not happening…I know…The desire to have more and better…And what that will do for my life…Is greater than that pain…The pain is temporary…Even though it’s deep…The pain is momentary…Even if it feels like it lasts forever in that moment…I have gotten over unfulfilled expectations…I have lived through that pain…And what I want…Will improve my life so much…It’s worth the risk…Because even if it doesn’t work out…I’ll have the opportunity to try again…Even if it doesn’t work out…It won’t always be that way…Failure is a possibility…Pain from that failure is a possibility…I have survived that before…And I will survive again…Knowing it’s worthwhile to strive for those goals.
