Today’s reflection is, “Let me seek wise counsel. Let me offer unbiased and unselfish counsel.”
I have a hard time seeking help of any kind. It feels like weakness. It feels like failing. This happens because I think I should be perfect all the time.
In order to be successful I need outside help.
Let’s tap for being able to seek counsel without feeling foolish or weak, and for an open heart to speak the truth that others need to hear when we are asked for help.
Wise Counsel
(audio 3m19s)
I don’t know everything…I know I don’t know everything…And it’s OK that I don’t know everything…It’s not a sign of failure… It’s not a sign of incompleteness…It’s not a sign that I’ve done anything wrong…It simply means I don’t know everything…I don’t know how to do things…I don’t know specific facts…And I don’t have the wisdom of experience in all areas…And it’s good for me to reach out…Reach out to other people…Seeking help and guidance…Knowing they don’t have all the answers…Knowing they don’t have the only answer…But reaching out…Would benefit me…In making good choices…And when people reach out to me…They’re not asking me to fix something…They’re not asking me to do something for them…They’re not asking me to take over…And if they don’t take my advice…If they don’t take my counsel…That’s their choice…And that’s OK…It’s up to them…To make the choice that they want…And when people ask me for help…My job is to provide them the best that I can…Not what’s best for me…But what’s best for them…When I offer counsel…When I connect with others…When they share with me…It also builds our bond…Builds strength…Builds our friendship.
I liked this one. It is a good one to remember to keep things in perspective and be non-judgemental. Thank-you.
